Puppy Daycare services are very popular for our puppies that have graduated from puppy-specific socialization. Our Puppy Daycare gives young puppies the opportunity to continue progressing in their social development by interacting with dogs of varying in size, personality, and age. Puppy Daycare includes lunch, and independent enrichment like frozen kongs or digestible chews. Puppy Daycare also includes lots of rest time to prevent overexertion and keep your puppy healthy. Puppy Daycare is designed for puppies younger than 6 months. For puppies under 16 weeks to be approved for Puppy Daycare at either location, they must first be cleared to complete a daycare evaluation at our Old Town location.
Boarding Services for Puppies
Boarding services are a great resource for owners that need overnight accommodations for their pet. Similar to our daycare participation requirements, for puppies under 16 weeks to be approved for boarding with us, they must be cleared to complete a daycare evaluation at our Old Town location. Once your puppy has successfully completed their evaluation, a second day of daycare at our Shirlington location will be required prior to scheduling a boarding stay. It is important that your puppy’s social development is progressing well, and that they have the confidence to comfortably interact in a small playgroup of dogs varying in size, personalities, and ages. Please discuss your puppy’s social development
At The Board Hound, our daycare was established to enrich the lives of the dogs in our community through healthy outlets for play and socialization. Our smaller play groups come with individual care and attention, while providing a low-stress, safe, daycare environment at our location in Alexandria, Virginia. Since safety is our first priority, we start with providing a high staff to dog ratio of about 1 to 10. This personalization ensures that your dog is always closely monitored.
