Our Boarding Philosophy
At The Board Hound, our goal is always to set a higher standard for dog boarding. Our boarding services are fully-customized, robust enrichment boarding with a focus on individualized care to meet your dog’s needs throughout their entire stay. Our boarding options can accommodate rambunctious and social puppies to antisocial senior adults. No matter what stage of life, we can ensure that your dog will have a great time. Unaltered dogs can be accommodated as well, we do not have a spay and neuter requirement. However, all our dogs must be human-friendly and be well-adjusted to our facility before their first boarding stay with us. It is highly recommended to bring your dog in for several daycare visits before boarding to allow them to gain confidence, build relationships with our staff, and become familiar with our facility and routines. The better we know your dog and they know us, the better care we will be able to provide.
We pride ourselves in our ability to provide individual accommodations for dogs boarding with us, while also having the ability to provide shared suites for dogs in the same family, or as requested. Our boarding dogs have 24-hour, on-site care, one of the only facilities in all of the metro area. Our priority is to provide a safe and comfortable place for your dog, for short or long-term boarding stays.
At The Board Hound, our daycare was established to enrich the lives of the dogs in our community through healthy outlets for play and socialization. Our smaller play groups come with individual care and attention, while providing a low-stress, safe, daycare environment at our location in Alexandria, Virginia. Since safety is our first priority, we start with providing a high staff to dog ratio of about 1 to 10. This personalization ensures that your dog is always closely monitored.
