Schedule a Daycare Evaluation
Evaluations are conducted by appointment only.
Eval Drop off is between 7:00 am – 9:00 am
Eval Pick up is between 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
To schedule an evaluation, please complete and submit a New Client Registration Form. Once you have completed our new client registration, a member of our customer service team will contact you via email with the next steps. Note: If your dog is a current training client, there is no need to fill out the form again.
Evaluation appointments are being scheduled from our waitlist as availability opens. Current waitlist times are around 3-4 weeks.
About Our Daycare Evaluation
During your dog’s evaluation, we’ll introduce your dog to a variety of personalities to determine their play style and friend preferences. Then, we’ll assess their ability to relax comfortably in one of our suites for rest time between playgroups. Finally, we’ll work on creating a positive, trusting relationship with our staff, to ensure the best experience possible. The results of these assessments will be used to create a personality profile to ensure a customized day of social outlets, enrichment, and fun.
Because it is normal for a dog’s social preferences and behavior to evolve, we’ll regularly update you on any changes to your dog’s preferences and adjust their activities to continue to provide the best experience at our facility.
Once your dog has successfully completed a Daycare Evaluation, you will be able to schedule a la carte or recurring daycare reservations.

At The Board Hound, our daycare was established to enrich the lives of the dogs in our community through healthy outlets for play and socialization. Our smaller play groups come with individual care and attention, while providing a low-stress, safe, daycare environment at our location in Alexandria, Virginia. Since safety is our first priority, we start with providing a high staff to dog ratio of about 1 to 10. This personalization ensures that your dog is always closely monitored.
